Speech pathology supports children who have difficulties with communication, including speech sounds, language, literacy, fluency (stuttering) and social communication.

Yes. We encourage parents and caregivers to be involved in their child’s speech therapy. Your speech pathologist can explain therapy goals, demonstrate practical strategies and provide ideas to support your child’s communication at home.
Parent involvement can also help children practise and generalise new communication skills beyond their therapy sessions and into everyday life.

Yes. Grow & Tell provides Telehealth speech pathology for children and families across Australia. Online appointments allow children to access our Sydney-based speech pathologists from home, including support for speech, language, literacy, fluency and other communication needs.
Telehealth may be used for ongoing speech therapy, parent support and some speech pathology assessments, depending on your child’s individual needs.
-
The length of speech therapy varies for every child and depends on their communication needs, goals, age and the type of support required. Some children may work towards a specific speech or language goal over a shorter period, while others benefit from ongoing support.
Following assessment, your speech pathologist will discuss appropriate therapy goals and recommendations with you. Progress is reviewed regularly so therapy can be adjusted as your child develops and their communication needs change.
-
A speech pathology assessment may be helpful if you have concerns about your child’s speech sounds, language development, literacy, fluency (stuttering), social communication or overall communication skills.
An assessment helps your speech pathologist understand your child’s individual strengths and areas where they may need additional support. Depending on your child’s needs, this may include standardised assessment, clinical observation, language samples, play-based activities and information from parents or educators.
Following the assessment, your speech pathologist will explain the findings and provide recommendations for therapy or other support where appropriate.
