Adult Speech Pathology in Sydney
Respectful, individualised communication support for autistic adults and people living with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.
Speech Pathology That Starts With You
Communication needs and priorities can change throughout life. Our role is to understand what matters to you and provide support that respects your identity, experiences and preferred ways of communicating.
Acorn Allied Health supports autistic adults and people living with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease. Together, we develop practical, individualised strategies that can support communication, confidence and participation in everyday life.
Appointments are available at our St Leonards/Crows Nest and North Narrabeen locations.
Who We Support
Acorn Allied Health provides respectful, individualised speech pathology support for adults and families. We work collaboratively, recognising that every person’s communication preferences, experiences and goals are different.
-

Autistic Adults
Neurodiversity-affirming support shaped around your communication style and personal goals. Sessions may explore self-advocacy, relationships, workplace or study communication, and navigating everyday interactions.
-

Adults Living with MS or Parkinson’s
Support for changes to speech, voice and communication associated with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease. We focus on practical strategies that support confidence, connection and participation in everyday life.
-

Parent Coaching
Practical guidance for parents and caregivers who want to support their child’s language and communication through everyday conversations and routines. Strategies are tailored to the child and family.
What Support Can Involve
Speech pathology support looks different for every person. We begin by understanding what matters to you, then develop practical strategies that reflect your communication preferences, daily life and personal goals.
Support may include
Expressing needs, ideas, opinions and boundaries
Speech clarity and voice
Self-advocacy and communication confidence
Conversations, relationships and social connection
Communication at work, during study or in the community
Strategies for communication changes associated with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease
Parent and caregiver coaching to support a child’s language development
You do not need to know exactly what type of support you need before contacting us. We can discuss your concerns and help determine whether speech pathology may be appropriate.
Support Built Around You
Good communication support begins with listening. We take time to understand your experiences, priorities and preferred ways of communicating before deciding what support may be helpful.
Respectful and person-centred
Your identity, autonomy and lived experience are central to the process. Support is never about changing who you are.
Collaborative goals
We develop goals with you—not for you. Sessions focus on outcomes that feel relevant and meaningful in your everyday life.
Practical and individualised
Strategies are adapted to your strengths, needs and circumstances, whether communication matters arise at home, at work, during study or in the community.
Clear and supportive
We explain options clearly, welcome questions and regularly review whether the support remains useful to you.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach. We work alongside you to find a direction that feels respectful, achievable and worthwhile.
